NextGen Firewall Deployment

Project Description: Perform refresh of the University Border firewall environment with Next-Gen firewall infrastructure that integrates both Layer 4 and Layer 7 infrastructure.

Project Purpose/Business Need: Implement a converged firewall solution that integrates both Intrusion Prevention / network device filtering and security packet inspection and intrusion prevention-based firewall functionality within the same appliance.

Project Scope:

1.1     Solution overview

Assess various Next-Gen Firewall models and perform an evaluation.  Then work towards implementing the solution no later then (NLT) October 1^st, 2020.

• Vendor submittal
• Product assessment and evaluation
• Procurement
• Hardware Rack and Stack
• Product configuration:
  • Network (Layer 4)
  • Security (Layer 7)
• Test
• Go live
• Clean-up
  • Discontinuance of old border firewall
