Project Description: Reduce the University’s IT risk profile by securing or eliminating the number of distributed departmental data centers.
Project Purpose/Business Need: Phase 2 of this project will concentrate on assessing the risk associated with departments managing their own server rooms. A set of agreed upon data center standards will be developed to assess the risk of maintaining departmental server rooms. Options will be developed and provided to departments to help them eliminate the risk of maintaining data centers that do not meet the standards.
Project Scope: The scope of the phase 2 effort includes all University departments that manage their own departmental server room. This effort does not include the University of Chicago Medical Center.
IT Partners Impacted by Project: Phase 2 of this project will impact all departmental IT staff that manage departmental server rooms.
